A dear friend of our family’s was visiting her aunt in Mexico. This past Friday, the First Friday of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, both of them were killed in a car accident. Our friend’s name was Virginia and her aunt’s name was Rosa. Both names can be seen as connected with the Blessed Mother. “Virginia,” invoking her perpetual virginity and “Rosa,” may refer to Our Lady’s association with roses, or her title “Rosa Mystica.” This title was given by a 20th century Italian visionary, Pierina Gilli. These apparitions are still under investigation.
Virginia and Rosa had a bond of love in life and a bond in death. Please pray for their dear souls and their loved ones. If you have any of your own intentions, you may email us and we will post them.

The birds they sang at the break of day
Start again, I heard them say
Don't dwell on what has passed away…
Yeah, the wars, they will be fought again
The holy dove, she will be caught again…
The dove is never free
We asked for signs, the signs were sent…
Yeah, the widowhood of every government Signs for all to see…
You can strike up the march, there is no drum
Roy T. Richter’s elderly, but still very sharp, father spoke at his funeral last Tuesday. He described his son as fearless and said he never knew a greater man. Roy Jr. started as a young police officer who personally took on New York City’s worst criminals. He hunted them down on his overtime because he couldn’t stand them getting away with their crimes. He faced death every day with amazing courage. He later became an attorney and had a many-faceted career, largely assisting the police force. He did not like “dirty” cops and fought against them. He loved the city upon which streets he risked his life. After the 2020 riots, he personally took footage of the devastation and wanted people to see it. This is the man he was. Let us remember his this way. With dignity, integrity and honor.

Me: What time are the shed people coming tomorrow?
Hubby: 8 to 10.
Me: AM?
Hubby: Yes, AM.
Me: Wasn’t The Shed People a horror movie in the 80’s?
Hubby: No, it was my band. Don’t you remember? You came to our show at Paramus Middle School’s science fair.
Me: Gee, don’t know how I got that wrong.
(This actually went through several drafts which were even less funny.)
This will help on so many levels. We can now clear a lot of things out of our basement and garage, and organize them better. Mainly this will be yardwork and gardening paraphernalia. Sheds are great to have and great for resale value of a house. This one has a waterproof floor and a heavy-duty ramp. The window and skylight are important for letting light in-it can be rather dark in a shed otherwise. Of course, you can leave the door open for more light. We now have to bring shelving in and we are all set! My life just got better:)
Me: I don’t remember that happening, do you?
Hubby: No.
(Okay, I won’t quit my dayjob. Oh, this IS my dayjob.)
Someone said that. I don’t remember who. Let’s test it out…
Nah…I wouldn’t play poker with those guys.
No. But I might play poker with…
or
You can do it with countries too…
No.
Okay.
Me: I think I’m starting to look old.
My husband: I don’t think so.
Me: That’s because you’re blinded by love.
My husband: I do need new glasses.
Me: I go get a foot massage and a latte.
Yes, these are actual conversations, tweaked only slightly for literary purposes.
Me: The garbage is smelly.
My husband: Oh.
Me: The garbage is smelly.
My husband: It’s garbage night. I’ll take it out later.
Me: The garbage is smelly now.
My husband: “Wives do not nag your husbands” is one of the Ten Commandments.
Me: (I take the garbage out.)
